About the Society
Music Theory Midwest (MTMW) is a regional academic society. Originally chartered in 1990, MTMW serves the US Midwest and adjacent Canadian provinces: Area I (Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario); Area II (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin); Area III (Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Manitoba); and Area IV (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee).

Music Theory Midwest will hold its thirty-sixth annual conference online in partnership with the Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic and the South Central Society for Music Theory on May 16–17, 2025. To register, visit our Registration Portal.
